A more cruiser-fied version of Triumph's mighty three-cylinder 2294cc Rocket III motorcycle has been added to Triumph's line of motorcycles for 2006. The new Rocket III Classic brings rider floorboards, a pullback handlebar, restyled mufflers, a pair of two-tone paint chopices and other detail styling changes to further dress up and Americanize Triumph's original Rocket III flagship motorcycle. In addition the passenger saddle has also been modified somewhat to improve pillion-rider comfort.
The majority of the new motorcycle is the same as the original, and Triumph lists the same specs for wheelbase (66.7 inches), seat height (29.1 inches) and dry weight (704 pounds) as the standard Rocket III model. The new Rocket III Classic also has the same 140-horsepower output specification as the original. No price has been announced, but it will be available in red/black or red/white two-tone color treatments.
The base model Rocket III returns for 2006 with a blacked-out engine and four solid color choicesthe three shown below plus black. Its price is $15,990.
The rest of Triumph's cruiser line returns intact, and there is also now a Scrambler version of the Bonneville twin.
