Take a Ride to Julian, California

We’re not actually telling you to hangout at a pie store, but if you’re in the San Diego area, take Highway 188 (a designated scenic route) south toward Baja and Tecate, Mexico. You’ll pass through Barrett where you’ll find Barrett’s Café, which has an excellent all-you-can-eat fish fry. Continue west on Highway 94, then north on I-8 through the Cleveland National Forest to Highway 79 and to Julian. Now stop and have some pie. Really, it’s fantastic. Don’t be surprised that the parking lot often contains a lot of bikes. The area is laced with excellent motorcycling roads— scenic and curvy—and blessed with good weather.
