Snap-on LED Swivel Light | CR Tested

As far as I’m concerned you can never have too much light...especially when you’re working on a motorcycle. So I always jump when someone offers me a gadget that’ll shed illumination on whatever dark recess I’m peering into.

As the name suggests, the LED Swivel Light is an array of 30 LED lamps arranged in a rectangle, and mounted to a non-slip, ergonomically correct handle that contains a magnetic base, and incorporates a fold-away hook so you can hang the light from any convenient location.

Powered by three AA batteries, the light is bright enough to sear your eyeballs, though the LEDs don’t emit heat to burn you should you inadvertently bump the lens, which is nice when you’re working in close quarters. And working in close quarters is what the Swivel light (measuring just 10 1⁄2 in. high x 2 1⁄2 wide x 2 3⁄4 in. deep) does best, making it perfect for peering into your motorcycle’s innards.

The LED bulbs are rated for 100,000 hours or 11.4 years of continuous duty, but best of all, the LED Swivel retails for a miserly $19.95 (depending on where you buy it) and is available at your favorite PEP Boys or other big box store. There’s also a one year warranty, though given its solid construction, I doubt you will need it.
