Want to give the sportbike jockeys and touring riders fits? Infiltrate their territory—twisting mountain roads and expansive interstates—on the Burgman 650 Executive. While its primary mission is providing the consummate scooter experience, it can tackle such other challenges too. The proof is in the performance, as the Burgman’s 638cc DOHC parallel twin adopts design elements from the legendary Hayabusa hyperbike. As well, its 120/70R-15 front, 160/60R-14 rear tires grant a usefully wide footprint for aggressive riding, not to mention offering a high load capacity. And braking is handled by triple discs with ABS, a feature that not every sportbike or cruiser has.

Riders can choose between two power modes (Drive and Power), as well as their preference of automatic or manual shifting via the Suzuki’s electronically controlled CVT. And there’s plenty more to explore, such as a power-adjustable windshield, heated grips and seats, and even power-folding mirrors. The toll for these features is weight, as the Burgman 650 Executive, full of fuel, weighs a claimed 611 pounds.

Likes: A scooter that's comfortable and capable on the open road.

Dislikes: Costs and weighs as much as "real" motorcycles.

Verdict: Motorcycle capabilities, dressed up as a scooter.
