2018 Suzuki Burgman 400 ABS

The do-it-all scooter.

2018 Suzuki Burgman 400 ABSCRS

All new for 2018, the Burgman 400 ABS has an upgraded chassis and engine, together with enhanced revised convenience features and styling. Key attributes for the midsize scooter remain comfort and versatility. Its revised 399cc single has more low-end grunt for mastering city traffic, and enough higher-rpm get along to confidently cruise the freeways. As well, the automatic CVT drive system frees riders from having to master a clutch and shifter. Larger 15-inch wheels and tires roll over rough roads more smoothly, and the larger rubber footprint improves cornering capability.

Stylish and spare, the new bodywork melds classic scooter design cues with sharper contemporary lines. Dual LED headlights increase usability and safety. Three storage compartments, a 12-volt power outlet, and a big 3.6-gallon fuel tank add versatility, a thicker dual seat with an adjustable rider backrest boosts comfort, and a magnetic security cover for the ignition switch and standard ABS advance safety. And to help riders maximize fuel economy, the Burgman 400 ABS also has an Eco Drive indicator.

Likes: Comfortable seating, built-in storage, bright LED headlights, and triple disc brakes.

Dislikes: Gassed up and ready to ride, the Burgman 400 ABS weighs a claimed 474 pounds—similar to a midsize motorcycle.

Verdict: Everything you need in a scooter and nothing that you don't.
