S&S T143 V-Twin Motor: Preview

Big power for big baggers

Eleven years ago, S&S Cycle introduced the world to its 124-inch T124. It was a high-displacement power broker made for Harley-Davidson touring models at the time. With stock Harley Twin Cams hitting the 110 cubic inch mark, 124-inch displacement might not seem so big as when it was compared to the 88- and 95-inch mills of a decade ago. That might be why S&S has introduced its new 143 cubic inch T143.

S&S designed the motor fit 2008 and later Harley Davidson Touring frames without the need to modify the chassis; the contour of the rocker boxes has been addressed to clear the frame.

S&S says the T143 isn't for the meek or inexperienced: "This is an ultra performance/race engine. Longevity, engine noise, vibration and throttle sensitivity have all been comprised to reach this level of performance while fitting in a stock chassis." Obviously, the T143 isn't for every riding situation, or every rider. It is the purchaser's responsibility to consider the suitability for their application.
