The following Business Wire news release indicates that Indian's largest investor is looking for an entity or entities to buy the now-defunct company. This holds out some hope for fans of the marque that its motorcycles may again be produced and the Indian Motorcycle brand may emerge intact.

CMA's initial task is to seek a buyer for Indian Motorcycle Corporation who will continue to operate the company in order to preserve its assets. During the coming days, CMA will be aggressively marketing the company to determine the best means for maintaining the integrity of the company and maximizing its value._
