2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled: First 5 Mods

The first accessories and alterations we would add to Ducati's utilitarian Scrambler

If we're being totally honest, the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled doesn't need much. After 1,000 miles on dirt and road, there were only a few little things in regard to style and convenience that I would choose to add. I could probably pick more than five if I tried, but really, this bike is awesome just as it comes.

Crash Bar- If you're going to be spending time off-road, a crash bar is a good idea. It is for me anyway, as I have a tendency to fall over. This also serves as a great place to mount a GoPro or some auxiliary lights. This one is available from SW Motech on Revzilla for $230 Staff
Hand Guards- Whether you're out hitting the trails or just want to look like you have been, bark busters are a great addition to any bike with some dirt flare to it. Protecting your hands from the branches and leaves (definitely not from mirrors while lane splitting), hand protectors are also a great way to keep from breaking your levers if your bike goes down. These ones are available on Amazon for $30Staff
Tail Tidy- This is a purely aesthetic mod, but it makes a big difference in the appearance of the bike. Taking that long plastic dongle that hangs down with your blinker and license plate and relocating all of the important stuff right under the fender, this piece is not s huge drastic change but definitely cleans things up. This one is available from Evotech Performance for $108Staff
Saddlebags- These bags from SW Motech are pretty killer. They're good looking, adjustable, and can fit on a range of bikes. They come in two sizes with waterproof liners and won't break the bank. These are available on RevZilla for $173-193 depending on the size.Staff
Auxiliary Lights- For both increasing visibility on the road and range of vision off-road, auxiliary lights are awesome. They also add a raw utilitarian look when mounted up on your crash bar. They're a relatively quick install and come in both chrome and black finishes. There are some universal options, but these PIAA lights are available as a kit for $400 on RevZilla.comStaff
