BMW R nineT: Factory Accessories

Installing factory custom accessories on BMW's naked street standard

The BMW R nineT is a bike that is waiting to be customized. Not to say that it isn't gorgeous from stock, but part of the genius of the design is how easily one can change up the look of this motorcycle. And best of all, it doesn't take a ton of mechanical knowledge, you pretty much just have to know how to turn a wrench.

With an experienced technician, we managed to remove passenger pegs, replace the mounts with the ones for the new muffler, install the new muffler, install the new tail section, the cylinder head guard and get the knee pads on to the tank in about two hours.

The BMW R nineT, all bone stock and ready for us to start installing the custom BMW accessories.

Here we are removing the 2-1-2 pipe to make way for the new slip-on muffler.

Here we are removing the passenger pegs to make room for the new exhaust mount.

Just four bolts to pop off the old passenger seat!

And the Cafe Tail Section screws right back on with those same four bolts. The cafe bubble serves as a nice compartment for a pair of gloves or your registration paperwork.

just a few more screws off and back on to mount the Cylinder Head Guard

The knee pads come with a nice little guide to make sure you stick them in the right place. As easy as peeling the back of a sticker off and following the guides.
