WyoTech's 2012 Bike Week Activities Include WyoChopper & HP Shootout

The WyoChopper bike, as seen on "American Chopper", and the 22nd Annual Brute Horsepower Shootout will be part of the school's events from March 9-18, 2012

This year marks the 71st anniversary of Daytona's Bike Week, the "World's Largest Motorcycle Event" according to the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce. The WyoTech campus in Ormond Beach will host a series of events in conjunction with the Daytona Bike Week 2012 festivities.

Beginning Friday, March 9, WyoTech's custom bike, which was revealed on Discovery Channel's "American Chopper", will be on display from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Along with the WyoChopper motorcycle display, plans include campus tours, food vendors, educational seminars by Nitrous Express and Royal Purple, a visit from NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle racer Steve Johnson and the 22nd Annual Brute Horsepower Shootout.

On March 14-16, contestants from across the country will compete in the Brute Horsepower Shootout to determine whose bike produces the most horsepower. Qualifying rounds in 13 categories ranging from V-Twins to the Unlimited class are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday with the finals on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sponsored by Snap-On Tools, Royal Purple, Dynojet Research, E3 Spark Plugs, Nitrous Express, Brock's Performance, MTC Engineering, Deltran Corp. Battery Tender, Cengage Learning, GoPro Cameras and Liquid Performance, this event always brings out the best in every participant as they compete for prizes and bragging rights.
