Klock Werks Creates a Victory Custom

Klock Werks Creates 'Tattooed for Life,' a Victory Custom, to Honor Departed Employee & Raise Organ Donor Awareness

**MEDINA, MN **- To the staff at Klock Werks, the Mitchell, S.D., custom and performance shop, it's fitting that the heart of Vic Briggs beats on.

Briggs, a beloved member of the Klock Werks team, died as the result of an auto accident in June 2011. It's in his memory that Klock Werks and Victory Motorcycles have teamed up to create "Tattooed for Life," a dazzling Victory custom that will be raffled to raise funds for Vic's four young children and to raise organ donor awareness.

Vic was just 29 when he died. He was a registered organ donor, and his heart beats on, fueling the life of a teenaged boy. Brian Klock, President of Klock Werks, joked that the staff expects the boy to someday experience Vic's passions for high-performance motorcycles - and vanilla ice cream.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit "The Br Kids," Vic's four children whose names all begin with Br: Brooke, Brittany, Brandy and Brycen.

Complete details about the custom bike, "Tattooed for Life," and the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets online are available at the Klock Werks website, www.kustombaggers.com/vic.htm.

The bike and organ donor awareness effort also pay tribute to Austin Shimon, a friend of the Klock Werks team who died following a motorcycle accident in 2009 at age 20. He, too, was an organ donor who posthumously enriched the lives of others.

The raffle will continue until October 20, 2012, when the winner's name will be drawn during Biketoberfest, Vic's favorite motorcycle event.

More information about how to register to become an organ donor is available at www.donatelifeamerica.org.

'Tattooed for Life'
The special custom was unveiled in New York City in January 2012 and it will be displayed at major motorcycle events throughout the year. Victory provided Klock Werks with a Kingpin, a classic cruiser, for the project, which presented the team with a challenge, according to Brian Klock. They wanted to honor Vic's passion for sport bikes by creating a cafe racer, a far cry from what Klock called "a full-blown cruiser."

Fueled by their desire to honor two dear friends, the team easily overcame the challenges and created a fantastic bike.

Among the bike's custom features are the clip-on handlebars, modified rearsets, headlight with the instrumentation Frenched into the top of the nacelle, added front brake disk to give the bike duals up front, modified engine and custom exhaust, and black powdercoating of numerous chrome components. Klock said the team created a custom tail section that houses a stock Victory taillight, and they were proud to have retained the stock frame and stock seat.

Darren Wenzel of Gasoline Art in Austin, Texas, provided the custom paint. The graphics on the fuel tank and side covers replicate Vic's tattoos, while Austin's initials are featured on the tail section. The Donate Life logo appears on the tank.
