New 2017 Road King Special Walk Around Video

Harley's factory blacked out Road King

We just got back from Daytona where we were testing the new 2017 Harley-Davidson Road King Special. This model is really all about the aesthetics, sporting the new Milwaukee-Eight Engine and Show Suspension it is the same as the 2017 base Road King. Where this beast stands out is in the styling department. First thing that jumps out at you, or at least should, is that it is damn near completely blacked out tip to tail.

Black pieces include: black front end, engine covers, wheels, handlebars levers and mirrors, rear struts covers, rear brake/turn signal housing, tank dash console and exhaust. Now that is a lot of blacked out upgrades! The Road King Special is sporting new 10" mini ape handlebars and are actually quite comfortable. You get the extended saddlebags as well on the FLHRXS. All in all this thing looks great and just as the rest of the new tourers handles great due to the new Showa suspension. We love the new 107 Milwaukee-Eight engine especially with the blacked out covers. We are glad Harley-Davidson finally revamped the Road King, and for those who are shitting their pants, relax, you can still get the basic Road King.
