H-D Museum Unveils Tsunami Motorcycle

Last October, the Harley-Davidson Museum unveiled a display featuring the Harley that drifted across the Pacific Ocean following 2011's tragic tsunami in northern Japan.

The 2004 Harley-Davidson FXSTB Softail Night Train, recovered off the coast of British Columbia, is being displayed at the request of owner Ikuo Yokoyama. He asked to have the motorcycle shown at the Museum as a memorial to those whose lives were lost or changed by the 2011 tsunami in Japan.

The remarkable story of the motorcycle's recovery made international headlines after it washed ashore in a container. Yokoyama declined Harley's offer to return the bike, although he was touched by the outpouring of support from riders around the world.
