Victory Releases 2013 Model Year Lineup

New Additions Include Boardwalk, Cross Roads Classic and Ness Customs

As we reported several weeks ago, Victory had announced a couple of its 2013 model year releases early in the cycle, since the majority of them were carryover models with little changes for the new year save paint and/or cosmetic treatments, with the exception of the Judge (introduced earlier in the year). The returning 2013 models included four Cruisers and four Baggers/Tourers. But now, along with the bold new logo, Victory has given us the complete picture.

Just yesterday, the New American Motorcycle Company announced the rest of the 2013 lineup, along with prices -- and these new machines don't just sport bold new graphics.

The biggest news is Victory's brand new Boardwalk model, which joins the company's Cruiser segment. Not surprising then, that the Boardwalk is a classic cruiser in the most basic sense. As you might guess by the name, this boulevardier is long and low, and simple yet elegant, and all about easy riding. The new Boardwalk features relaxed ergonomics that put the rider in a more laid-back riding position, with a comfortable seat, full floorboards and a wide beach-bar to splay you out. If you look carefully, you can spy some similarities between the Judge and the Boardwalk hiding beneath all that bodywork. The black version of the Boardwalk will set you back $15,499, while the Pearl White color goes for $15,899 (higher in California and Canada).

Victory has also seen fit to support the Boardwalk with 60 accessories (available by the end of this month, according to Victory), several of which feature the Victory-exclusive Lock & Ride technology that makes it easy to remove the components. With the optional Lock & Ride saddlebags, passenger backrest and windshield installed, a rider can convert the Boardwalk from solo boulevardier into a light-duty tourer, complete with a pillion comfortable enough for two-up riding. You can read our first ride impressions in the December issue of Motorcycle Cruiser, on sale 9/12 (yea that on-sale date doesn't make sense to us, either).

Ready to Cruise

With the addition of the Boardwalk, the 2013 Victory Cruiser lineup now boasts six stylish models - all of which are powered by the Victory Freedom 106/6 V-Twin. The muscle-car-inspired and performance-based Judge was released earlier this year as a 2013 model, while the bobbed, stretched and ape- hangered High-Ball returns in much the same guise as last year. The tricked-out Jackpot custom cruiser brings the bling with extensive chrome and a 250mm-wide rear rubber, while the 2013 8-Balls - the Vegas 8-Ball and Hammer 8-Ball - go the other direction, with minimal, blacked-out components and a great bang for the buck. Seems the Kingpin is no longer in the lineup. Prices are as follows:

Vegas 8-Ball $12,499
Judge (Gloss Black) $13,999
Judge (colors) $14,399
High-Ball $14,499
Hammer 8-Ball $14,499
Jackpot $18,499

Styling with Storage

All the 2013 Victory Baggers return with the innovative cast aluminum chassis, standard ABS and plenty of lockable storage space. We can vouch for the two-piece aluminum frame's outstanding handling qualities; Victory's Cross bikes have won a large portion of Cruiser's last few touring shootouts. The Cross bikes also feature an air-adjustable shock that allows you to dial in your preferred settings easily.

The Cross Country brings a fork-mounted fairing with an integrated audio system, and also packs hard saddlebags topped by lockable lids with weatherproof seals. The base model has an MSRP of $18,999. New for this year is the dazzling Antifreeze Green option, with cool black flames and chrome trim, which will retail for $20,999.

Also joining the Bagger category is the Cross Roads Classic, which replaces the standard soft-bagged Core Cross Roads base model. Not surprisingly, the Classic rocks premium laced wheels, whitewall tires, a windshield, studded seat and soft-covered saddlebags, and two-tone paint, all for $17,999. The Hard-Ball returns as a bad-ass, blacked-out bagger with laced wheels, hard saddlebags and ape hangers, and also retaining its $18,999 buy-in.

Hitting The Road

The Victory Touring segment returns looking much the same for 2013, with the large-capacity Cross Country Tour leading the way. This bike boasts the exclusive Victory Comfort Control System, which lets riders manage airflow from the front end of the bike, as well as the most storage space of any production bike in the world.

Both 2013 Touring models (Cross Country Tour and Victory Vision Tour) have integrated audio systems with four KICKER Premium speakers, as well as heated handlebar grips, heated seats with separate controls for pilot and passenger, and long floorboards so you can stay comfortable on the open road. The Cross Country Tour starts at $21,999 in black, with new color options for 2013 adding an additional $600.

There's no mistaking the Vision's stylish, distinctive bodywork with integrated side storage compartments, and a large trunk. The Victory Vision Tour also has a powered windshield height control for outstanding weather protection. The Vision retails at $20,999 for black, and going up to $21,999 for two-tone Sunset Red and Black.

Standing out from the Crowd

The 2013 Victory lineup includes three limited-edition Ness Signature Series models styled by the legendary family of custom builders, Arlen, Cory and Zach Ness. Arlen has styled the $25,999 Arlen Ness Signature Series Victory Vision, while son Cory has applied his own touches to the Cory Ness Signature Series Cross Country Tour, which will retail for $28,999. Not to be outdone, Cory's son Zach has worked his edgy, distinctive magic on the Zach Ness Signature Series Cross Country, priced at $25,999. Each of the Ness Signature Series have the core features of the standard edition motorcycles, but with the added appeal of custom touches such as billet wheels and additional chrome and style-driven accessories and paint.
