Alpinestars Tech Apparel Collection Sneak Peek

Manufacturer will roll out full collection next month

While Alpinestars has been busy putting the final touches on its new 2011 Technical Apparel gear collection for 2011 (set to debut in February), they managed to slip us several sneak peek examples before the real unveiling.

The first item is the Verona Air jacket. New to Alpinestars' City Collection, the mid-length Verona is a piece of gear designed with the warm weather commuter in mind. It features a form-fitting sporty cut, durable shell, excellent ventilation and impact protection, all combined in a sleek, understated design.

The skin is a dual 450D polyester with mesh inserts and double PU coating, so you get airflow AND abrasion resistance. Inside, there's removable, low-profile CE-certified Bio Armor in the elbow and shoulder impact areas (chest pads and back protector are available as optional accessories). A micro-Velcro waist flap allows you to adjust it all to your liking.

Number Two on the list are the brand new Logic Kevlar Denim Pants - a nice match for the Verona jacket. The classically-styled jeans were developed to offer superior protection over traditional denim, with strong main seam construction, internal Kevlar reinforcements and abrasion resistant cotton being just some of the standout features.

A traditional five-pocket design lets you stash your stuff, while slightly articulated knee design gives you a better fit in the riding position. They'll retail for $99.95.

The two other products from the upcoming2011 Technical Apparel collection focus more on safety and protection, and also using the latest technology.

The Bionic Air Back Protector and the Bionic Air Back Protector Insert are designed to increase rider protection without adding heft and bulk. The ergonomic, compact Bionic Air Back Protector is CE-certified to the current back protector standard, and focuses on covering the central back. Though the use of Alpinestars’ exclusive Dual Density Honeycomb technology, the Bionic Air offers riders a extremely lightweight protector that conforms to the body for maximum levels of riding comfort and performance. Adjustable elastic shoulder straps and waist on the Bionic Protector ($119.95) ensure a tailored fit.

Because plenty of Alpinestars gear offers removable protective inserts, the Bionic Air Back Protector Insert ($69.95) can be easily slipped into any Alpinestars jacket’s back protector pocket to ensure outstanding levels of impact protection. It also is certified to the latest back protector standard to offer street riders superior protection and performance in a lightweight, form-fitting package.

The Verona Jacket will be available in sizes S-4xl and retail for a suggested $159.95;

The Logic Kevlar Denim Pants will come in sizes 28-28 US, and retail for $99.95;

The Bionic Air Back Protector will retail for $119.95 and come in sizes XS-XL;
