Indian Motorcycle: Making Big Plans for Daytona Bike Week

Company To Unveil New Engine That Will Power The All New 2014 Indian Lineup

Indian Motorcycle's marketing campaign doesn't seem to have lost any steam at all -- the firm has just announced a wide-ranging schedule of events for this year's Daytona Bike Week, which will take place March 9-16, 2013 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Check it out:

First up will be the All-New Indian Motorcycle Engine Reveal , officially going down on Saturday, March 9, 9 p.m (EST)., at Dirty Harry's Pub on 705 Main St.

It's then and there that the long-awaited, highly anticipated and completely new Indian Motorcycle engine will make its debut to members of the press and motorcycle enthusiasts. The special unveiling at Dirty Harry's Pub on Main Street will feature special celebrity guest Mike Wolfe, host of HISTORY Channel's "American Pickers" series and diehard Indian Motorcycle fan. This rare chance to be a part of history doesn't require any tickets for admission, either.

A week later, Indian will also be hosting the Spring Dash at Daytona International Speedway, on Saturday, March 16. To commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Daytona 200 victory by Floyd Emde on a 1948 Indian Big Base Scout, Indian will be the title sponsor of the Daytona International Speedway Spring Dash. Floyd's son Don (who also won the fabled Daytona 200), in homage to his father's tenacious flag-to-flag win on the original beach course, built a tribute motorcycle to replicate the bike his father would have had on the starting line in 1948. This rare Big Base Scout will be at the Indian Motorcycle display at the Daytona Speedway and will lead the Spring Dash event on March 16 with Don Emde at the controls.

In the celebration of this legendary anniversary, Indian Motorcycle will offer diehards the opportunity of a lifetime - the chance to win a ride around the Speedway (on their own bike). Starting March 13, visit the Indian Motorcycle Store at Main Street or the Indian display at Daytona Speedway for info and to enter (1 pass per motorcycle required / approximately 400 passes available).

Indian Motorcycle @ Daytona International Speedway (Turn 4)

Even if you can't make those events, you can still visit the Indian Motorcycle Experience display at the Speedway every day during Daytona Bike Week to hear the latest news, see the iconic Big Base Scout tribute bike, get up-close with the all-new engine, and check out the line of 2013 Indian Motorcycles.

Indian Motorcycle Main Street Store

There's also a main Indian Motorcycle hub at 506 Main Street in downtown Daytona Beach. Here you can also see a cutaway of the new engine and enter to win admission to the "Indian Motorcycle Spring Dash" and walk away with a free, customizable premium item. A full collection of authentic apparel will be available for sale.

Destination Daytona

Finally, there's Destination Daytona, a site that celebrates the pride of engineering and heritage, with a display facilitated by the National Motorcycle Museum featuring vintage Indian Motorcycle engines and complete motorcycles, including a 1927 Indian Scout and a rare 1913 Indian Twin. Destination Daytona also will have on display the new Indian Motorcycle engine. Limited edition Indian Motorcycle/Daytona Bike Week 2013 t-shirts will also be on-sale.
