Ducati’s new power cruiser is ready for its close-up: The first unit of the 2019 Diavel 1260 series rolled off the assembly line at the Italian maker's Borgo Panigale factory last Monday, January 21, to cheers from the assembled workers and a speech from CEO Claudio Domenicali and Production Manager Silvano Fini.
The Diavel 1260, which represents the second generation of the original Diavel, brings a more aggressive profile and, Ducati says, higher performance as well as added comfort. A Testastretta DVT 1262 engine rides within the upgraded chassis, while state-of-the-art technology and electronics provide superbike-level braking performance and user-friendly engine control. The upright riding position is further propped up by a generously padded seat, with the exclamation point coming from that signature 17-inch rear wheel with its 240mm-wide tire.
The sportier Diavel 1260 S version gets first-rate Öhlins suspension, dedicated wheels, an even higher-spec braking system, and Ducati Quick Shift up and down Evo as standard.
The 2019 Diavel 1260 will be in North American Ducati dealerships by April, with a Sandstone Grey color, while the Diavel 1260 S will be available in Sandstone Grey or Total Black.
