Foster kids in middle Tennessee are going to be doing better thanks to the $60,000 raised at the eighth annual Craig Morgan Foundation charity fundraiser July 20 in Dickson, TN.

The event, hosted by country music performer and former television host Craig Morgan, gave fans a day of ideal middle Tennessee weather, a celebrity off-road trail ride and a concert with Morgan, Chuck Wicks and Tracy Lawrence sharing the stage.

All proceeds benefit the Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation. The organization’s primary goal is to assist foster children in Dickson County and the Middle Tennessee area.

The day kicked off with a motocross exhibition and group trail ride with motocross stars Fred Andrews, Randy Hawkins and Kevin Windham. Morgan and his fellow performers joined the riders and tested their skills on the wooded course.

Later that day, fans joined up for a concert on the Dickson War Memorial Lawn. The trio — Morgan, Wicks and Lawrence — played a selection of favorites, including an acoustic rendition of Morgan’s latest hit, “We’ll Come Back Around.”

The night also featured a live auction of a FLY racing helmet, hand-painted by Joshua Gray, and a 2010 Kia Soul donated by Universal KIA, both of which contributed nearly $10,000 toward the $60,000 total Morgan says was raised. All proceeds go to the Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation.

The foundation says it’s expanding its fundraising activities this year and plans a sporting clay event in October.

Craig Morgan is known for hits like “Bonfire,” “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “International Harvester” and "This Ole Boy.”

He was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. Prior to becoming a country music and TV sensation, Craig spent 17 years in the Army and Army Reserves. He is an avid supporter of America’s military personnel and a recipient of the 2006 USO Merit Award.

In addition to his country music career, he hosts the award-winning show “Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors," airing on Outdoor Channel.
