Some specially designed wire spoke wheels, such as those on the BMW R1200C, are configured so that the spokes don't seat in the tire's air chamber, permitting them to use the safer tubeless tires. BMW's design also makes it easy to see the tire for inspection. It is also possible to seal the spokes to run tubeless tires.
