I have a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I still have the stock foot pegs on the bike, but I am looking into adding floorboards or after-market pegs for better comfort for longer rides. Kuryakyn seems to have some good products, but I was wondering if anyone out there has added anything after-market that has worked well for this bike. Thanks for the help!

Hello. I just purchased a 99 Kawasaki VN800 custom. It runs real good, but when I first start it for about 5 minutes it spits and backfires some and idles sort of rough. I am talking about even if it is 80 or so degrees outside. Like I said after 5 or 10 minutes it seems to idle better and does not spit or backfire. The motorcycle only had 5000 miles so it probably sat up for awhile. I have put about 200 miles on it and it does not seem to be getting any better. Any ideas or does it need to go to the shop for repairs? thanks, gary

Hi! I currently ride a Honda VLX and really like the Suzuki M50 for my next bike. Its got all the goodies I want but am surprised at what seems to be undepowered brakes. I am okay with drums in the back... I figure well... that will just make the risk of locking up the rear that much less but a single disk in the front? c'mon! The bike is 100 lbs heavier than the VLX and while it has a larger disc than the VLX, by eyeballing it I think it has the same caliper size and so the brake pads are probably no bigger. Seems ridiculous... I know its not a sports bike but the braking system is not better than a lower class bikes (v-650, vlx, kawi 500, s40). And while I'm on the subject, its the same thing for the other metrics as well until you get up into the liter+ Am I wrong on this? And also... can anyone let me in on the secret of why a kawi 750 had dual discs and none of these monsters have 'em?

Ok ! I have still not bought a bike. I want a bike that looks like a big old school kind of harly look. Yes, peer pressure still exists at 60. I grew up in a place where My idols where 81,s dont ask if you dont know. Anyway I like that look but cant spend the money and want somthing reliable , yes everyone says Harlys are more reliable now days , but they say that about jaguares also. any iunput would be apprecaited . sorry if my spelling is messed up , but thats what you get out of a biker. right.

I am new to customizing my bike, but I intend to do all the work myself. I am enjoying that part of the process at least, and my hubby thinks it's hot. LOL: So, my question stems from doing something possibly stupid and ending up not being able to fix it yet. I was going to change over my grips to an aftermarket product. I took the bolt out of the end of the handlebar to change the grip out and now I can't get it to screw back in. I have wondered if there was supposed to be a stationary nut that has fallen and I won't be able to fix it without taking everything off (which I don't know how) and tipping the bike over to get at the nut at all. Any advice on this would be helpful!!! Please! :o

i have a 2001 honda spirit 750. I have replaced the chain without problems but about every 150 to 200 miles i have to retighten the chain. Its not difficult but i can't understand why the chain would be stretching this much in such a small amount of time. Any suggestions? D.I.D brand chain. ( just bought RK chain to replace along with new sprockets)

Hy there.I need some help here.I'm kind of new in the cruiser bike world.I own a Yamaha virago xv 250,for 2 years and I have no complaints about it but I have to upgrade now.In the begining of the year I bought a Yamaha xv 750 year '83.I had no idea that this bikes have this problem with the starter,I used the bike for 1600 miles and that's it because it doesn't start.It starts just in the second gear being pushed by somebody else.I know that the parts are not available because of the year of fabrication,but I head an idea ,I don't know if is a good idea or not ,that's why I'm writing here.I was thinking to buy an used engine from a yamaha xv750 newer model 1990's up and to change the left crankcase that has the new system ignition.I know I have to change also the generator and rotor to adapted to new crankase.The question is?if is somebody who tryed this or if you think this can work?Any advices? I am looking to get back into bikes after not riding for a few years. I want something comfortable, reliable and looks cook. I found a 1994 Super Glide that I really like with low miles. From what I understand, the older Harley's have an minor oil leak problem. Is this true? Someone who had a Harley told me to watch it with Harley's because maintenance cost would eat me alive. I am also considering a 2004 Kawsaki Drifter 1500. Would I be better off going with the Drifter vs the Harley? Given, Harley's have great resale value, blah blah blah.. but I am looking long term. I do not want to be constantly taking my bike to the shop for route maintenance. Thanks! Biill
