There will be limited sumber of the Anniversary Volusia.
American Suzuki is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the U.S., with three limited-production anniversary models including a special version of the Intruder Volusia, its popular 800cc V-twin.
Priced at $6799 (which is $200 more than the standard Volusia), the 40th Anniversary rendition features pearl-white paint with gold pinstriping. The rider and passenger saddles are trimmed with chrome studs. It gets a white face on its tank-top speedometer, which also has orange backlighting. "American Suzuki 40th Anniversary" emblems will be mounted on the upper triple clamp, and there will be a special key fob. Dealers will get the anniversary VL800Zs in late March or April.
There will also be anniversary models of two sportbikes, the GSX-R600 and Hayabusa, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of when American Suzuki (formerly U.S. Suzuki) set up shop in California. Suzuki Motor Company dates back to 1909, when Michio Suzuki founded Suzuki Loom Works. The company began developing motorcycles and cars in 1937 but didn't actually produce its first vehicle, a 36cc motorized bicycle, until after World War II, in 1951.
