Traumahawk?Order your Dodge V-10 bike now. Driver runs motorcyclist off road, then shoots him. More Indian Motorcycle Company woes as labor -- and its lawyers -- enter the fray. AMA/ProStar's dragracing's hot-rod cruiser program has been renewed for 2004. Don't get lost. Piglet -- you'd be missed. Now it's legal to protect both of your ears in the (silence is) Golden State. Dodge Will Sell its Tomahawk V-10 "Motorcycle" through Neimen Marcus -- For $555.000
Been wondering what to get that special someone for a holiday gift? Check out the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog, which will include the first of about 10 of Dodge's oddball four-wheel, 500-horsepower, V-10 powered Tomahawk (a.k.a. Traumahawk) "motorcycles." Best of all, they won't run away on it after you give it to them because you can't ride it on the street -- or maybe at all. Oh, and don't plan on too much change from that million-dollar bill. See the Automotive News story for details:

Organize a Search Party
Motorcycles are small, and they and their riders can easily lie unseen not far from a road. That's why it's a good idea to let someone know where you are riding, when you will check in, and perhaps even make progress reports, like apilot filing a flight plan to help find him if he goes down. For the second time in a month, friends and authorities have had to search for a motorcyclist who didn't turn up after a ride. Unfortunately, this time, the end result wasn't as happy.

Drunken Driver Gets Three Years for Running Motorcyclist off the Road, then Shooting Him
After he sped up behind them and ran them off the road, this drunk started shooting when the four riders confronted him. He didn't get a good-driver award, but he got the next-best thing -- only three-years instead of a well deserved five-and-a-half-year sentence.

California Riders May Now Wear Earplugs in Both Ears
This minor law has long irked some riders, and efforts by members of a Southern California Internet-based group and the support of Senator Debra Bowen (who also sponsored California's anti-spam bill) led to a change in the Vehicle Code that the Governor signed into law on September 28. You can find the entire tedious history of SB 315 at the link below, but be warned that the bill contains dozens of provisions, most of which don't involve motorcycles.
