Honda’s just announced the next wave of bikes in its lineup of 2013 motorcycles, and there’s actually some cause for palpitations this time. Thankfully, we’re getting more than just bold new graphics; this latest announcement features five brand-new models.
The recent releases bring their own distinct appeal to separate portions of the market. The new models include three middleweight 500 and 600cc sport bikes; the CB500X, a middleweight adventure-style machine; and the muscular, four-cylinder, performance-oriented CB 1100. The sixth bike targets the cruiser market in a big way: witness the new Gold Wing F6B, an ultra-cool big-displacement bike with a powerful 1832cc, six-cylinder engine. The new bold and blacked-out-styled machine represents a bit of a styling departure for Honda, but it’s still loaded with all the key features you expect in the ‘Wing platform. It starts with Honda’s unique, horizontally opposed six-cylinder layout, which also contributes to an exceptionally low center of gravity. That design, along with a large and stout twin-spar aluminum frame plus a sophisticated suspension system, gives the Gold Wing F6B remarkable nimbleness and maneuverability. The blacked-out styling treatment features long and low lines, giving the once-stodgy Gold Wing F6B an aggressive look, while large-capacity saddlebags, a comfortable gunfighter-style seat, premium audio system and other touches smooth out the rough parts of any road trip. Available in standard or Deluxe trim (which sports heated grips passenger backrest and other amenities), the 2013 Gold Wing F6B is available in Black or Red on both standard and deluxe models. MSRP is $19,999 for the standard model; the Deluxe will run $20,999. It should be available in February 2013.
