To kick off the announcement of its 2013 lineup with a bang, Star Motorcycles has also unveiled the "all-new" V Star 1300 Deluxe.
It's not entirely new however; down below is the familiar 1304cc (80 cubic inch) V-Twin engine with a 9.5:1 compression ratio and fuel injection, along with the same 2 into 1 exhaust you'll find on the 1300 standard and Tourer models (which are still in the lineup). The styling on this machine, however, is the bigger point; it's decidedly more in tune with current bagger lines.
A double-cradle steel frame holds it all together, with the engine mounted slightly forward for better weight distribution. Rolling on 16-inch wheels, the V Star 1300 Deluxe rolls on 16-inch wheels capped by real steel fenders (front and rear), making for a richer fit and finish as well as easier customization.
But the visual highlight on the 1300 Deluxe looks to be the fork-mounted fairing, which is designed specifically for the newest V Star. That wing houses an integrated sound system, and a motorcycle-friendly Garmin Zumo 665 GPS that's waterproof, has Bluetooth wireless connectivity and is satellite radio capable. The sound system is iPod/iPhone compatible with handlebar-mounted controls.
The 7.6 gallon color-matched, lockable hard bags are also specifically made for the V Star 1300 Deluxe and in addition to providing storage capacity, add to the overall horizontal sweep of the bike's lines.
The 2013 V Star 1300 Deluxe will come in Deep Blue, with an MSRP of $13,690.
Of course, there are the carryover models too, and there are plenty to choose from.
At the top of the touring chain is the long-running Star Venture, which will be offered in Charcoal Silver/Raven. It's followed by the 1900cc V-Twin Stratoliner S in Deep Blue, the 1700cc Road Star Silverado in Impact Blue as well as the V Star 1300 and V Star 950 Tourer, each in new colors.
The classic models, led by the 1900cc Roadliner S, 1700cc Road Star S, V Star 1300, V Star 950 and V Star 250 are all also in the line for 2013.
Star's chopper-inspired models make a comeback with the exclusive Raider SCL leading the charge. It's available in a new crimson red/intense black this year. Not far behind is the 1900cc Raider S, with chrome trim in pearl white or candy red. The standard Raider gets blacked-out , with a raven color. The smaller Stryker returns in raven, candy red and pearl white. Finally, there's the return of the bad-ass VMAX, which will be available in nebulous purple.
