Harley's new, bronze 110th Anniversary badges are plated in black nickel and then distressed for an 'aged' look to highlight the bronze.
Last week, Harley-Davidson announced its 2013 model lineup, with special 110th Anniversary models receiving the bulk of the focus. That's understandable, as 110 years in the business is a remarkable achievement. Needless to say, Harley isn't squandering the moment, with a big kick-off celebration of the 110th Anniversary at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, and a Euro continuation of the festivities at European Bike Week in Faaker See, Austria, on Sept. 4-9, 2012. The 'official' Harley-Davidson Anniversary Celebrations will unfold in Rome, June 13-16, 2013, and in Milwaukee, Aug. 29-Sept. 1, 2013.

Hard Candy Custom brings 16...
Hard Candy Custom brings 16 new "big flake" paint finishes, three of which will be available as a solid-color option on five Harley models for 2013. Lucky Green Flake is shown here.
But enough about the Anniversary; let's talk 2013 lineup (which will also be revealed to the public this weekend at the Harley-Davidson Museum's Bike Night in Milwaukee). The 2013 model year - Harley's 110th - is flush with bikes that are mostly carryovers, save for a few distinct exceptions, including ten 110th Anniversary Edition models, a restyled Dyna Street Bob model, and two new models from the Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) team; the CVO Breakout, a cool, unvarnished Softail with several trick finish options, and the CVO Road King, an otherwise standard (if there is such a thing) Screaming-Eagled King fitted with an innovative vented windshield and high-output audio system.
Harley-Davidson is also pushing customizing options and accessories for 2013, thus the Hard Candy Custom program, a riff on a styling movement from the chopper era of the late 1960s that flaunts brilliant metal flake paint, key chrome highlights, and styling details in accessories, gear and apparel. Hard Candy Custom elements include "big flake" paint finishes, three of which will be offered as a solid-color option on five Harley-Davidson production motorcycles for 2013.

The ten 110th Anniversary models feature an exclusive Anniversary Vintage Bronze/Anniversary Vintage Black paint scheme.
Ten different models will be wearing 110th Anniversary Edition trim this year, each serialized and featuring exclusive paint and commemorative solid bronze fuel tank badges plated in black nickel and then distressed to highlight the bronze. A bright gold-tone Bar and Shield cloisonné is inserted in the main body of the "single wing" badge while each motorcycle will carry other model-specific anniversary badging, trim and a serialization badge. All will rock factory-installed options as standard equipment, and production of each will be strictly limited to ensure exclusivity.

The 2013 Harley Street Bob gets 'refreshed' for 2013. This version is stock except for the Twin Cam 103 powertrain, Hard Candy paint, and wheels. • More Street, Less Bob
The 2013 Street Bob's Hard...
The 2013 Street Bob's Hard Candy Big Red Flake paint and forward controls are options, but the mini-apes come stock.
The Street Bob gets a few nips and tucks for 2013, including new blacked-out triple clamps, and a chopped rear fender with side-mounted license plate and stop/turn/tail lights, to match many of the other Dark Custom machines. You'll still see a solo seat and a mini-ape handlebar, but that is mounted on new risers that will make it easier on customizers. The powertrain is finished with polished covers instead of chrome, and the black cylinders are left un-highlighted. The standard running kit still includes the rubber-mounted Twin Cam 96 motor, though the bike we spent the most time with had a Twin Cam 103 engine (a $750 upgrade option).
The Street Bob also gets a new Full-length wrinkle-black cast console with integrated ignition switch, a new air cleaner cover , this one round, with a Bar and Shield logo and rubber isolated handlebar risers with forged top clamp for reduced vibration and simplified customization.

Did we mention the Big Red Flake paint? You can order it as an OEM option.
Naturally, there are new paint options on the Street Bob too, including Hard Candy Custom metalflake and a scalloped two-tone option, and the Street Bob will be joining the 1200 Custom in the web-based H-D1 Factory Customization program too, so customers can choose from more than 2000 factory-installed combination options, build their customized 'Bob on the screen, and order it through a Harley dealer. You can choose different wheels, paint and engine finishes, as well as a variety of combinations of foot-controls, seats and handlebars, to adjust the fit of the bike. Prices start at $12,999, with Custom Color at $13,729.
With Harley's HD1 customization program, you can choose different seats, handlebars or wheel options on the new Street Bob. The CVO Breakout features...
The CVO Breakout features a Twin Cam 110B engine and high-end, hand-finished paint. Hard Candy Gold Dust/Liquid Sun with Pagan Gold Graphics is shown here.
The 2013 CVO lineup features the new CVO Breakout, a Softail that offers two paint schemes featuring hand-polished steel sections on the fuel tank and fenders. This original “custom n” cruiser with a tall front tire and a naked front end has been updated and recast as Harley's high-end version. The 21 inch front wheel is now fattened out to 130mm. The familiar bobbed rear fender is there too, but wider and briefer, to better showcase a meaty 240 rear tire. The wheels themselves are a new 21-spoke design (called 'Turbine'), which carry their spokes all the way to the edge of the rim. There are three unique paint options on the Breakout, with the base being black/silver, and hand-polished metal showing on the tank in a vee-shape. The gold version is similar, but with a gold-tinted clear and heavy metalflake. The red option has a lace pattern in the vee-shape (done by hand on each bike), as well as brown leather on its patterned seat. Unlike the other CVOs, there will be no anniversary version of the Breakout; but like them, it too gets controls from the P&A catalog. It's priced at $26,499.
The CVO Road King's Wind Splitter...
The CVO Road King's Wind Splitter shield is claimed to relieve low pressure behind the shield and reduce rider buffeting. A vane within the vent should be adjusted to match air flow to the rider's height.
The CVO Road King offers a factory-installed audio system (the first for the Road King), and a new detachable Vented Wind Splitter windshield. The King is also fully-blinged, with mirror-chromed wheels and shiny stuff everywhere. Like the other CVOs, it sports H-D's new Slipstream Collection of controls. The heel shifter is a new extended reach unit that gives you more floorboard space. MSRP is $29,999 with a total run of 3,650 units; the Anniversary version will set you back $30,999.
