Featuring handcrafted leather solo saddle and saddlebags, engine and saddlebag guards, a rounded windshield with a headlight housing, a polished aluminum luggage rack, and other "authentic" styling details, the latest version of the Indian Chief motorcycle "celebrates the art of machinery."
Powered by the air-cooled 100-cubic-inch (1638cc) 45-degree Powerplus engine with its distinctive rounded and serrated rocker boxes, the Vintage is essentially the standard Chief with special touches, The seat is covered in four-ounce leather embossed with the Indian script. The saddlebags include water-resistant liners and are constructed from eight-ounce leather. They wear chrome-plate buckles and buttons and leather fringe. Their tops are embossed with the Indian script. Other touches include die-cast tips for the trademark deep-valence fenders, and an ornate die-cast aluminum horn cover over the low-tone Fiamm horn. Clear-lens driving lights bracket a vintage-cut windshield, The engine and saddlebag guards are modeled on those used on Indians built in the 1930s through the 1950s. A new chrome brace for the rear fender is intended to add rigidity and protection.

The Vintage is available in the familiar Century red or black. It uses the same chassis as other Chiefs, which includes rising-rate rear suspension, Paioli 41mm fork legs, and 130/90-16 whitewall tires on wire-spoke rims with four-piston Brembo brakes.
