Klim Outrider Pants Review

Klim is at the top of their field. When it comes to technical motorcycle gear built to handle the most extreme conditions, Klim nails it. We've been seeing their gear on our adventure riding brethren for years and we're incredibly happy to announce that they've just released the new Tetons collection. To put it simple: Klim got hip! The new line seems to be aimed at more the scrambler crowd than super serious adventure riders, but still built with the same quality and attention to detail we expect from Klim.

The Outrider Pants are made with the classic workwear double-knee style and basically just look like a good pair of work pants. The double-knee feature also works double duty, serving as the pocket to hold your D30 knee pads and making it possible to remove them from the outside. Made of nylon Cordura canvas, the material is strong but not overly hot and heavy. The pants are a little loose in the leg on me (I'm thin), but don't flap around in the wind too much when riding. Made with same five pockets most jeans have, the Outrider has a nifty little cell phone sized pocket about halfway down the thigh on the left side as well, great for keeping your phone accessible while sitting.

The pants are designed so that the pads are nonintrusive on the bike and when riding, they're very comfortable. In order for the knee pads to sit right on my knees, they're a little bit low when standing, so I usually take them out if I'm going to be walking around or off of the bike for a while. Luckily that's a quick and easy process with the single snap closure on the armor pocket.

After trying these pants and wearing them for a few weeks, I was even more impressed by the low price point. It's a challenge finding any sort of decent riding pant for less than $200 these days and the Outriders sit comfortably at $170-180. Available in three colors with tall sizes (thank heavens), these are a perfect inconspicuous daily riding pant.
