Al built this bike while he was rehabbing from an accident (he was a victim). Of course, by the time he finished, Al realized that building the bike had been part of the rehab. He went with the 883 mill for its simplicity and durability, placing it in a Paughco frame. Al did all of the work himself, making the side panels and modifying the tank and some West Coast Choppers fenders. Debbie loves to flaunt her bike, The Turq, and flog it, logging over 54,000 miles on the road. She's gone the big engine route, too, boring it out to 95ci, adding high compression pistons, gear-driven cams and Screamin' Eagle injectors. Better breathing required a race tuner kit for the intake and a set of V&H Big Shot Longs for the exhaust. For touring duty, she's added heated handgrips, H-D leather saddlebags and a Corbin seat. '00 Moto Guzzi JackalThere aren't many aftermarket parts available for Joe's Jackal, so it's a good thing that he's a retired mechanic and had the time and know-how to modify parts himself. The bike may look pretty stock but that's just testament to how good a job Joe did on the bike. With the fishtail custom exhaust, he remapped the OEM fuel injection and hand-made the chrome throttle body covers. The rear was lowered 2.5-inches with Progressive shocks, while GoldWing floorboards, a LePera FXR seat and a Memphis Shades windshield were added for comfort. |
