One of the prime goals was to make the stock Kawasaki Vulcan 2000's massive front end look lighter. We think we did so. Photography by Dean Groover and Evans Brasfield.

Once we'd removed the distinctive Vulcan 2000 headlight, we had our first inkling that we were going to need a different triple clamp. Look at all the crud the headlight nacelle hid.

The Works Performance shock easily slips in to replace the stocker. The V2K's ride was radically altered, allowing us to keep our butts in the seat over bumps.

The massive Avon Venom rear tire alters the bike's character. The stock swingarm did not even have to be widened to make room for the tire and the Cruise Concepts Five Armed Cerberus wheel. The fender rail is stock, but the new fiberglass fender and much cleaner lighting improve the view considerably.

The standard triple clamp wasn't going to cut it. That's why Garrett sells this onee. The Garrett Design triple tree is beautiful for its simplicity—just polished aluminum. You also get a nice five-degree rake added to the front end.

With the new triple clamp, the headlight area changed a bit from its condition in the photo at the beginning of the story. The brake lines mount to the bottom triple clamp, and wires for the seven-inch Adjure headlight and turn signals are all covered to match the braided stainless lines and tucked away on the left side of the steering head.

The name of this PPG paint may be "Oh So Orange," but it's the green highlights brought out by backlighting that sold us on it. The only way to truly appreciate the paint is to walk around the bike and watch it change.
