Battle of the Kings: Mud Bitch

The naturally aggressive stance of the Roadster has changed this competition from previous years. If you look through the lineup, you may notice that over 150 of the 208 builders chose the Roadster as their platform. The inverted forks, dual front disc and mid controls make it a perfect base for more aggressive styles of riding, which tend to be more aggressively styled customs. More dirt bikes, scramblers, cafe racers, and generally sporty builds than ever have entered the lineup, and among them, ready to take on anything, is Bavarian Lion Harley-Davidson Bayerwald's Mud Bitch.

Many tried, but few succeeded in turning their Sporties into dirt-able adventure machines. It's not an easy task with a stock bike that weighs around 500lbs, but if nothing else, they got the look damn-near perfect. The raised or "frisco'd" tank, front fender and high pipe do the bulk of the heavy lifting when it comes to aesthetics, with the chain conversion, knobby tires, skid plate, moto bars, headlight cover and various other pieces covering the more functional aspects of the transformation.

We really hope they didn't just take it out and get it dirty for the photos.

The best thing about taking a motorcycle like the Roadster and converting it to do something COMPLETELY different than it was originally designed to do, is figuring out how to do it!
